Phoenix Community Housing are offering a free six-week coding course for residents, starting on 15 September! Dive into the world of coding in a fun, creative and informative way.

Did you know, careers in coding earn an average of £57,478 per year? Learn JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3 and Database Management with SQL, essential skills for web development. By the end of the course, you will be able to build responsive webpages, online games and mobile apps!

"The course was brilliant. I can’t find fault, just wish there were MORE dates! It was so much fun." - Chantelle, Local Resident

Not sure if coding is for you?

Join our online taster session on Wednesday 1 September at 11am and meet the trainers. Spaces are limited, book your place now!

Can't make the taster session but still want to do the course? You can apply to do the course by filling in this online application form.

Important information

  • the course will be delivered online in two-hour sessions, on Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • no prior coding experience is necessary. Basic digital skills are essential
  • this free course is open to all Phoenix residents over the age of 18. We’d particularly like to encourage more female residents to take part
  • you need to be interested in coding and able to commit your time to the course
  • priority will be given to residents who are seeking work and interested in a career in the tech industry.

Spaces on the course are limited. We will prioritise candidates who have attended the taster session on the 1 September.

We caught up with our Head of ICT and Business Support, Yasmine, to find out why she'd encourage more women to break into coding and join the tech industry.
