Congratulations to our tenant Chair, Carmen Simpson, who has been shortlisted for the ‘Board/committee member of the year’ award at the Women in Housing Awards and 'Inspirational leader of the year' at the Housing Heroes Awards.
Carmen was elected Chair of Phoenix Community Housing in September 2021 and previously served as Vice Chair from 2016.
Carmen joined Phoenix after years of experience in resident involvement and housing management in Lewisham and Southwark.
Denise Fowler, Chief Executive of Phoenix, said: “This is a testament to Carmen’s hard work and determination over many years to ensure that all residents are heard. Carmen is a true example of a resident leader and a fantastic ambassador for our community gateway model. Best of luck Carmen!”
The award ceremonies will take place in Manchester on Monday 27 June where the winners will be announced.
