Join us in celebrating Pride month on Tuesday, 2 July 2024 from 5-7pm at The Green Man!

This year’s theme is ‘Creativity, Culture and the LGBTQIA+ experience.' There'll be fun activities, arts & crafts, information stalls, performances, talks, free massages, a zen den, refreshments and more*.

Special events for this year's celebrations include: 

  • A short films screening created by LesFlicks.
  • Performance by award-winning draq queen, Son of a Tutu.
  • Panel discussion with Naomi Bennett, CEO & Founder of Lesflicks and Son of a Tutu.

You won't want to miss Son of a Tutu's show! (He/She/They) is an award winning actor (Iris Prize 2023), award-winning drag artist, activist, and speaker. The 2011 winner of ‘Drag Idol UK’ since which they have performed/spoken across the UK and Europe in various cabaret venues and settings, films, pantos, at festivals (Pride and others) and, for small, medium, and multinational corporations. They have also appeared at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and hosted online events for Amnesty International, ParaPride as well as hosting Bingo on Victoria Beckham’s Instagram account.

As featured on ‘BBC stories’ Tutu was the face of Primark’s national Pride campaign (2019). 

They also conceived and directed the #YouCanDoBetter (microaggressions) viral video in the wake of the Black Lives Matter uprisings of 2020 and, were featured as one of the subjects in Dan Jones’s book ‘50 Drag Queens Who Changed the World’. They also can be seen in “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” movie, “Lemon” a short film currently streaming on All4 also, played “Mother Nature” in Acid’s Reign” at the 2023 Vaults Festival. They were also one of the featured beauties in the “Permissible Beauties” installation at Hampton Court Palace film the film element of which is currently showing at film festivals around the world as well as part of the ‘cult of Beauty’ exhibition currently on at the “Wellcome Collection” in London.

Naomi will screen a series of short films brought to you by Safflicks Pride Film Festival in association with Lesflicks.

Titled Queer life on screen - from self-realisation to coming out, and beyond, these four films offer a compelling journey through the queer experience, starting with the discovery of one's feelings in "Gay Movie." Next, the short documentary "My First Time - Coming Out" captures the pivotal moment of coming out. The narrative continues with "Could You Take My Equipment," which explores the search for community, and concludes with "Emma and Ellie," a heartfelt reflection on special relationships and cherished memories. In just one hour, these films provide a whirlwind insight into queer life.
